Company Class

SUMMER 2025

Company Class students will work with a professional director for four weeks to broaden performance skills, deepen knowledge of theater, and produce a show. Classes are held 9:00AM - 4:15PM at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center or at University of Wisconsin-Parkside with public performances on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the end of the session.

Company Class is for students entering grades 9-12 in Fall 2025, and is by audition only. Auditions will take place in February and March.

Note: Students must have previously participated in any Theater Academy class (Summer or School Year) to audition for Company Class held at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center. University of Wisconsin-Parkside is welcoming new students, regardless of past experience with First Stage.

Company Class Student Expectations

  • Serve as a role model of teamwork and positive energy for all other students.
  • Support and encourage each other to do your best.
  • Take on the additional challenge of both class work and rehearsal.
  • Carry the Company Class legacy of leadership, energy, discipline, focus, and joy.

Audition Information

Contemporary and Classical Company Class
A 1-2 minute memorized monologue- classical or contemporary; based on which class is your first choice. You can also perform one of each, keep your package at 2 minutes or less.

Musical Company Class
A 32 bar cut of one song, or two 16 bar cuts of contrasting songs. Be prepared to sing a capella, accompanist may be provided. Prepare a 1 minute memorized monologue if you are also auditioning for Contemporary/ Classical Comapny, keep your package at 2 minutes or less.

Classical Company Class Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

The classic romantic tragedy where an age-old vendetta between two powerful families erupts into bloodshed. A group of masked Montagues risk further conflict by gatecrashing a Capulet party. Classical Company Class: A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare
