Pre and Post-Show Workshops

Pre-show and post-show workshops are 45-minute interactive sessions that take place in the classroom the week before or the week after a classroom’s trip to see a First Stage performance.

Students develop a deeper understanding of the play’s themes as well as a stronger connection to the curricular ties explored within the show.  Active games, interactive storytelling, communication exercises, and general discussion are all based off the production that the students see. Students are also free to ask about the theatrical elements in the show for some behind-the-scenes information.
